Ok, be honest. How often do you say 'sure look'? I think I must say it at least 10 times a day. I couldn't even count how many times I hear it said.
Sure look is something you can say in response to just about anything. The bus is late? Sure look. You lost your wallet? Sure look. Your cousin's called off the wedding and run off with the best man? Sure look.
It is what it is. C'est la vie.
It's neither an agreement nor disagreement. I can mean 'I empathize with that' or 'I don't know how to respond' or 'please stop talking'. There are variations too - ah sure lookit, sure listen, erah sure. But 'sure look' is by far the most common.
So yes, I had to stitch it. I took some inspiration from Victorian and Edwardian newspaper ads. Fancy fonts and embellishments around the words - you know the kind of thing. And I kept the colour palette pretty minimal. Grey fabric, white letters and gold flourishes. So what do you think?
Now we just had to decide on stitches. I wanted to keep it fairly straightforward. This is a beginner level kit after all. And getting the twists and turns of the letters can be tricky enough. So we're doing some back stitch, whipped back stitch, straight stitch, chain stitch, french knots and - a brand new one - rope stitch.
And there we have it. the latest Needle Nerd kit, ready to go on the 1st November. Subscribe now to get it first, or pre-order here to get it in a couple of weeks!
