Completed the two Long & Short sections on day 2. I used DMC 315 and 152. After completing the first section I wasn't too sure if I should keep going or change the design. It just didn't look quite as I'd pictured it. But trust the process as they say! Feel so much happier with it now the two pieces are done.
You can see the lines I have drawn on the fabric in the second picture. These are to mark the direction of stitches (to keep them straight) and roughly where the colour changes.
I didn't do a split stitch around the outline as I normally would, because I'm going to couch a line of gold later. You can see how the shape has distorted slightly, but that will all be fixed by the end!
